Started an infusoria culture. :)

Since I've decided to breed, I've been reading everything I can about how to be successful, and I've listened to the advice of others, as well.

So today, to make sure I can do it, I started some 2-quart infusoria cultures using water from a well-established, heavily planted aquarium and two rabbit pellets each. Probably a silly thing to be excited about, but I am. It's an important first step!

So far they aren't turning away from green, and I'm beginning to wonder if I did something wrong with them. :-/ Is it okay for them to have a lid? To be sitting in the sun? Did I need to shake them after I put in the rabbit food pellet?

Sorry, was typing from my phone and it gives crazy text lol.
It would not matter if you took it out of sun at this moment.
I actually think during this time of the year, it gets so hot the infusoria will die staying in direct sunlight. As for my setup, I didn't shake it, but I just oxygenized(airate) the water to keep it moving.

I used 2 liter soda bottles. Just like hatching bbs, instead it's infusoria. Cut off the bottom portion of the 2 liter and save the opening to be use as base.

Try to use clear white bottles as it's easier to see what's going on inside.
