I had the same thing happen to me! I bought this stunning turquoise butterfly HM male as a baby and I just adored him. Then one day I noticed it looked like he had fin rot but lone and behold he has since changlled to a solid royal blue. Don't get me wrong, he is still stunning, but I do miss the butterfly.... Darn that marble gene

Hahaha I know, right? I thought I had the coolest betta with a spot! But it was really fun watching the blue slowly cover his whole body and he's still just as beautiful. Your guy is beautiful as well! Something about bettas having such vibrant colors.
